Built with 2.5GbE connectivity, a quad-core processor, AES-NI hardware encryption engine, 4K HDMI output, and real-time transcoding, the TS-653D 6-Bay NAS Enclosure from QNAP not only provides users with a solution to upgrade to 2.5GbE environments for productive daily backup and restore tasks, but also offers gamers resources for the vast gaming collections. The TS-635D also supports PCIe expansion with a PCIe 2.0 x2 slot, which can be fitted with a 10 Gb/s USB 3.2 Gen 2 port, an M.2 SSD for SSD cache acceleration, a 5GbE port, or a 10GbE port. Built with six drive bays that are capable of natively supporting 3.5″ SATA III and SATA II hard drives, as well as 2.5″ SATA hard drives and SSDs, this NAS will allow you to store and share many files, as it allows 800 maximum concurrent connections.

The TS-653D runs on the QTS 4.4.2 operating system. Its CPU is a 2.0 GHz Intel Celeron J4125 Quad-Core and its 4GB of DDR4 RAM allows frequently used files and applications to be quickly accessed. When connected using one 2.5GbE port, this NAS can deliver download speeds of up to 187 MB/s and upload speeds of 291 MB/s. With both 2.5GbE ports in use, download speeds increase to 376 MB/s and upload speeds are boosted to 498 MB/s. When using an optional 10GbE card, download speeds max out at 683 MB/s, while upload speeds reach 399 MB/s.

Also featured are two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports and three USB 2.0 Type-A ports which allow it to be connected to your compatible Windows or Mac system, and network connectivity is achieved via the two 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet ports, allowing your stored data to be shared with users throughout the network. For those who require RAID support, the TS-653D supports RAID 0, 1, 5, 6, 10, and 50, as well Synology Hybrid RAID and Basic RAID, each of which offers performance, data redundancy, or a combination of both. For those who do not require a RAID, JBOD and single are also available.

The TS-653D is engineered to be energy efficient. Not only does it offer two 90mm fans to help keep the system running cool, it supports numerous scheduled power on/off cycles and hard drive hibernation to further reduce power consumption and operation expenses.

The QNAP TS-653D 6-Bay NAS Enclosure operates on 100-240 VAC and includes two Ethernet cables, a power cord, an AC adapter, flat head screws for 3.5″ drives, and flat head screws for 2.5″ drives. Protection is provided by a limited 2-year hardware warranty.

Upgrade Your NAS to 2.5GbE Networks

The TS-653D comes with two 2.5GbE RJ45 LAN ports that allow you to use existing Cat 5e cables to upgrade network speeds from 1 Gigabit to 2.5 Gigabit. The dual 2.5GbE ports also support Port Trunking for up to 5 Gb/s. By using QNAP’s N-BASET/Multi-Gig USB 3.2 Gen 1 to 5GbE adapter (QNA-UC5G1T) or 5GbE PCIe expansion card (QXG-5G1T-111C), your laptop or desktop computer can easily connect to 2.5GbE networks with the TS-653D to benefit from higher network speeds.

2.0 GHz Intel Celeron J4125 Quad-Core Processor with 4GB Memory

The TS-653D is powered by a 2.0 GHz Intel Celeron J4125 Quad-Core processor (bursts up to 2.7 GHz), features 4GB of DDR4 memory, and supports SATA III 6 Gb/s drives. The support of the Intel AES-NI encryption engine boosts encryption performance while also maintaining the security of your NAS data. You can flexibly install SSDs for cache acceleration to maximize network and storage performance for data-intensive applications.

Windows and Mac Backup

Use the license-free QNAP NetBak Replicator utility to back up and restore files from Windows computers. Apple’s Time Machine is supported for backing up Mac computers.

Snapshots for Volume and LUN

Snapshots are essential for NAS data protection, and their block-level feature makes it a dependable data protection method in the face of growing ransomware threats. The TS-653D supports up to 256 snapshots per volume/LUN, and up to 1024 snapshots per NAS.

Hybrid Backup Sync (HBS) consolidates backup and synchronization functions for easily transferring data from the TS-653D to local, remote, and cloud storage spaces. HBS also supports QuDedup technology which removes duplicated data at the source, further accelerating backup and restoration tasks over 2.5GbE connections.

The TS-653D has an HDMI 2.0 port that supports 4K (4096 x 2160) 60 Hz output, allowing you to directly view multimedia content saved on the NAS on a bigger screen. The support of high-quality 4K video transcoding enables the NAS to convert videos to universal file formats that can be smoothly played on multiple devices. The TS-653D also can stream videos through DLNA, Chromecast, and more to satisfy versatile multimedia application needs.
